Let's start with the citation you provided. It is an AI summary of a single case study not yet published. That is hardly a basis for saying the doctors "should have known" about the issue.

Did you know that in many practices, docs and their staffs often use flow charts or questionnaires to narrow down diagnoses and figure out how to proceed? These take time to update after new information comes out, gets vetted for accuracy and become establishesd protocol. Not everyone doc can read every bit of information that comes out in addition to seeing patients, managing the documentation and dealing with insurance companies.

I would say the message here is "stay tuned for further developments"

All of the info we discover is valuable and to be weighed. I think that after DECADES of trying statins and Repatha with disastrous results each time and my doctors basically saying “you HAVE to take it” and acting like I was faking the severity of my side effects, they would read up on every possibility. Mostly, they just didn’t believe me. Statin intolerance is not that rare, yet, most doctors refuse to recognize it, or, at least, how debilitating it can be for some people.
