I would think that it can only be treated 1 way, because once you have it, it doesn't really matter how you became afflicted with it. Except, I guess, if it was due to alcohol consumption. You'd want to cut back to keep it from getting worse. I've done that, but I'm pretty sure mine was caused by using a TENS unit for my aching ankles. One day I woke up and my feet were numb!
