Hot or burning feet are common with peripheral neuropathy. Numbness going towards the knees is secondary to that my neurologist said this was due to nerve damage there was no treatment and no cure so it’s a case pretty much of getting on with it. I usually hang my feet out of bed they can get lonely but never mind. I also get a vibration through the souls of my feet again. This is typical of neuropathy. I’m very fortunate. I don’t have pain just discomfort. I understand that the visits to the neurologist in the USA are about the same as they are here in England you go you are diagnosed and goodbye. Good luck with your search. I hope anything I’ve said helps Margaret.

I had burning sensation in my leg which kept me awake at night. Nervive with Alpha Lipoic Acid has helped me immensely. I get a good night's sleep fir first time in month. There are many sources and my research suggests using R- ALA. I am still in the "testing" stage with approval from dermatologist and GP.

I had burning shins and feet at night only. I used flat ice bags on top of my covers, then I used damp towel over my shins with a fan directed to it. It really helped to sleep that way. I had every test possible. I ended with my spine pain management doctor giving me a steroid injection in the tail of my spine. It stopped it completely. For how long I don't know yet. But I believe the timing of my problem is issue. It started 5 months after ACDF surgery ( three neck discs fused together to stop my extreme nerve pain down my arm). It stopped the pain, but I believe it also started an Adjacent Segment Degneration down my spine, causing other discs to get angry and set off the new pains (which are not near as bad as before the surgery). Surgery causes new things to take place. I wish I had known this, but I do believe I did not have a choice because a nerve was pinched by my cervical discs #4,5,6. Once they became fused as planned at 5 months after surgery, new problems started popping up, Trying to find answers and resolutions is a full time job, seemingly the new retirement job! I feel fortunate though to function very well each day around it! Good luck to all! Neuropathy is an unexplainable, almost impossible to diagnose, daily challenge.
