Thanks so much for reaching out. I’m doing very well with decreasing the name brand Cymbalta but I only have enough capsules for about two weeks. I don’t mind the bead counting. I’ve tried to find out if there is a generic brand that may not send me over-the-edge. I can’t get any feedback from anyone, in multiple groups, with suggestions. I didn’t know about the name brand discontinuation until recently. I would have started this process a year ago if I had known. I’m terrified to switch back to the generic because it was like I had taken nothing. AND, you are right…this medication should have never been marketed. Furthermore, when so many patients have reported the adverse effects, Lily should have been forced to continue producing. At the very least, patients, doctors , and pharmacies should have been notified directly.

The second portion - you phrased it perfectly.

I am so sorry that the duloxetine (generic) did not provide any results for you. They were constantly switching me on/off generic and the brand name (120 mg for 13 years; prescribed for nerve pain following a spinal cord injury at age 23).

Again, not sure where you are located, but I am glad to hear you are having success with the bead counting. I got "lucky" in the sense that I was able to find a doctor who coordinated with a local compounding pharmacy and they "made" my own lower dosages, so I did not have to do the bead counting.

You got this. Hang in there. I am not familiar with this internet platform so I do not know if there is a messaging option, but if you need support/guidance, I am here.
