Are you using cold packs alternating with heating pad? If not 20 minutes every 2 hours as you are able. If you don’t have any medical problems, kidney/liver disease, stomach ulcers can take ibuprofen alternating with Tylenol as per dose on bottle. Discuss physical therapy with your doctor. I haven’t looked but suspect there are videos on you tube to help with acute (short term) low back pain. Try searching McKenzie method). It’s easy to let your back muscles get tight when you have pain, so gentle stretches are good, stop when they cause pain. Use correct lifting technique.
Where is that numbness exactly?
Is there bruising?
What did your doctor find when he/she examined you?
Have you ever had cancer?
Any recent spine surgery?
Do you take any medicine that suppresses your immune system?
Urinary incontinence, sciatica (pain the radiates down one leg or both), numbness between your legs (saddle anesthesia), unexplained weight loss, fever, weakness in the legs, or night sweats are red flags that require more urgent attention.
Hopefully this will resolve itself in a matter of weeks. Good luck to you. Hope this helps
Thank you for your reply the numbness goes across my lower back down into my right leg and into my foot. There is no bruising just tender to touch. The doctor found nothing wrong in the xray had me bend certain ways and sent me on my way with note saying I can go back with no restrictions. I’ve never had cancer, and no spinal surgery. I don’t take any medication.
