Do your migraines follow a pattern?

Posted by eastbayouch @eastbaydave, Aug 21 4:35pm

The patterns of my headaches are like riding a rollercoaster. I woke up today with a smile. It’s been long but usually means I’ll be feeling headache free a few days or…? I’ll take it! I’m at the top of the coaster heading down, feeling good.
At the same time I see the next round physical symptoms beginning. I still feel good. Just reaching the bottom of the track and beginning to head up. Then slowly the headaches return, intense but pass faster. Then worse and worse as I head up the track further into the pain. Never ending. Can’t get off.
Up down up down over and over
Anyone else follow a pattern?
Very nervous putting this up …

My pattern is the headache NEVER goes away. Six years now every single day/all day. Debilitating!

I thought I had it bad but I’m learning. I can’t imagine! Never goes away? Every day, all day? How do you do it? Meds? Meditation? Dark room? Accupuncture? Is it up and down, bad, really bad go to not as bad, over and over, or pretty much the same all the time? Any advice, how you manage would help? I go through long periods when I think I’m going to ‘lose it’ but eventually I will get a break, even if it’s a day. The longest break I ever had, almost 2+ weeks. Just long enough for hope to start… I have time a very hard time showing real feelings, was raised to ignore and never show them, but you’ve hit me way down….

I understand the triggers you described, @migraineelaine. While my migraines are not as severe as those you describe, I have found that visual stimulation (such as action movies or television shows) can create the environment for a vestibular migraine with dizziness and nausea.

Yeah that can do it for me too.
Mainly flashing, repetitive, too fast too loud, like ‘Warning may cause seizures…’
Also, depends where my heads at when I start.
I was always a reader. I love to read! When this started I can’t read like I did, so often. Can’t see or focus in a migraine or tolerate music. I started TV. I have to have something to distract me or I go crazy sometimes… just the pic w no sound. For me, also love stuff like Joseph Campbell. Know he’s not for everybody. Love SouthPark too!

No meds work. Getting MRIs of brain and spine again to rule out a spinal leak. I lay down, get up and do a few things and lay down with ice. Don't drive. Haven't been out anywhere except my daughter takes me to her house once in a while. Hang in there and find a good headache clinic. I go to Jefferson Headache Center in Philly, but they don't seem to have answers.

Yes, I understand what you mean. Before I had vestibular therapy, I would get dizzy and nauseous doing word search puzzles (which I love). Now, I can do them without symptoms.

Have you had any vestibular therapy? Here is some information about what it is and how it can help from the Cleveland Clinic website: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/15298-vestibular-rehabilitation

As you can see, this is used for migraines as well as other dizziness problems.

Hahaha! Well, I hope you are feeling better lately. I have my semi-good days and bad days. It doesn’t help that I’m trying a new regimen with my cardiac medication right now. I think that may be one of my stressors. Have a migraine-free day!!!!😉

😂If I wasn’t born with multiple stressors, oh yeah, mom was getting those before my debut, it didn’t take long to….
Never mind😂
You know, considering life in hell house, I’ve got a lot to be thankful for! I really do!
I wouldn’t be the weird maladjusted artist I am today!
Let’s all have a migraine free day!

This maladjusted artist wants to say thank you and hope you by posting some paintings. I do owe it all to growing up where I did tho I didn’t know at the time.
