Interesting observation. Doxycycline is an impressively versatile drug and is unlike most other antibiotics in several notable regards. Recently it has shown clinical efficacy in the treatment of a cardio form of amyloidosis which includes among its prominent symptoms peripheral neuropathy.

Very interesting about this new use for doxy. Was a study done and do you have a link to the findings? I would appreciate reading more.
I know enough about doxy to know that it is effective for a type of inflammation whereas the prednisone I take for my PMR (polymyalgia rheumatica) helps with a different type of inflammation and actually the prednisone was only a minor treatment compared to what the doxy has done for me.
