Second opinions can never hurt. You didn’t indicate how old your mom is but “elderly” for me at 73 means in their 80’s or older. If she’s been wheelchair bound for a long period rehabilitation therapy (PT) can help to an extent. If she’s debilitated she’ll only be able to accomplish so much due to her age and therapy may be painful for her as well. Please make sure your desired outcome from PT her expectations too.

She is 69 , she went a saw a new PT last week and was evaluated thoroughly . They said she needs to continue PT with a neurologist at a specific center due to involving more neurologic factors. She will be going for an overall second opinion this week as well .
