I would not rule out that the pain you are feeling is PMR. I would have the pains come and go in different areas. My right shoulder seemed to be the weakest spot and my wrists and feet were affected but not to the same degree. I agree with seniormed and repeat your labs. Many have found other immunes that seem to surface with the PMR. Your thought of going to your lowest possible dose is right approach but you might still need more prednisone to deal with inflammation. I did my best to hold at 10mg and tried to weather the storm thru some of these painful at times sore spots.
