I am really, truly beginning to question blood results. I always fast correctly + an extra two hours. I got a triglyceride number that set a world record and the doctor immediately said we needed to look into injections. His first reaction should have been the same as mine, "that cant be right lets run that again". Found a new cardiologist/lipid specialist and almost threw him out of his office when he said its proven that "anyone" that has pain from statins is crazy. "Its been proven its all in their head". Since it was his office, I humored him and tried statins ONE last time with his gradual dose approach. Starting with half of the Lowest dose every third day for two weeks, then another two weeks at every other day, etc, two weeks of a daily half dose and now at a full dose every day for a few months now. NO Pain like all the other times i tried all the other statins. I was really optimistic and started re-thinking my disdain of doctors and questioning blood results.

Fast forward a few months more and now the disdain and questioning is returning. Instead of on the floor muscle pain, I've developed intense burning in my legs and feet (below the knee) and inability to sleep due to leg ache. I tried to settle on this being a flare up of sciatica but MRI is not showing any spine change or change in that condition. I am starting to think it could just be the statin.

Lipitor, I got terrible leg cramps at night within a few weeks. I wasn't on a high dose. I took a break. After a week my symptoms went away. I split the pill, symptoms came back. I took a break, they went away. I took it 3 times a week, symptoms came back. I tried Crestor and was OK for a while. But then the symptoms crept up on me in a different way, leg cramps, foggy thinking, exhaustion. I stopped and in 2 weeks, I was myself again. Now I take Benecol, Nexletol and Zetia. I am good.
