I have osteoarthritis in right hip. No way that I want a hip replacement. I do water aerobics 3 times a week and it has made a huge difference. I used to be in pain all the time. Not any more. I read that water exercises and/or swimming is the best thing you can do for this. It works!

I heard that too!!! Water is great and not hard on the joints!

Thanks Judy.

Water aerobics is an excellent exercise and very, very easy on the joints. Ditto for spinning which is what I do.

I have had both knees replaced, right hip and left shoulder. I'm a victim of osteoarthritis. But in every case, the surgery eliminated the pain.

I'm curious why you don't want your hip replaced. If you are mostly pain free, there is no need to rush it. If you do experience pain daily, as I did, the hip is one of the easiest joints to replace with a quick recovery.

All the best to you, and good for you for doing water aerobics!
