Beautiful!! Your story was so inspiring!!! My dad had a ruptured AAA, in December 1984. His surgeon, who was a family friend, advised us this was going to be a difficult one and pray. Dad had a big tummy; therefore, the aneurysm was not palpable and did not show up imaging. The surgeons miraculously respected but the clamp time caused kidney damage. We were transferred to a bigger hospital; He was placed on dialysis. He slowly started to improve and was able to acknowledge that we were there. Ultimately, they could not control the infection and he passed seven weeks after surgery. At least, we were given time with him and for that I’m grateful. It was a devastating loss as my dad was always bigger than life to so many people. I do recall my dad saying it was the worst pain just prior to going into shock. But I wanted to thank you for your inspiring story and that you are enjoying your life, doing woodwork and involved in giving back to the community.❤️
