My neurologist has prescribed Nurtec for visual symptom.

@tatiana987 I am in Ontario. Our health plan is run by the government of Ontario.
Because Nurtec works for vision I believe here it would be an optometrist or ophthalmologist who would prescribe it. I will be seeing my optometrist again next Wednesday so I definitely will mention it to her!
How long did you take Nurtec before you saw improvement in your eyes? I have very large floaters in my eyes which obstruct my vision.

Rashida, I may have misled you into thinking that Nurtec is prescribed for vision improvement. As far as I know, it is prescribed for migraines including ocular migraines, so the effects on vision are extra, outside the intended use. Not exactly off label use?

You will think I am crazy if I tell the truth. The truth is that I noticed a change in a matter of minutes. Since I only take Nurtec as needed for vision problems, it was my third pill about 2 weeks later where my vision seemed perfect. And that varies now between much improved and supernaturally bright and perfect. I should say that I have two lenses from cataract surgery, one European and one American, very different lenses but both obviously work well under the right conditions. I have not had the usual visual disturbances for about a week, and the doc wants me to take more Nurtec.
Whatever you decide, I wish you well. This is a powerful drug for some of us. Not to be dismissed IMO without trying if your vision causes you distress.
