I stayed in a hotel that was just a few miles away and took an Uber over to the hospital. It really was an easy experience!
Also, there are two different hospitals, one in Phoenix and one in Scottsdale and they are only a few miles apart. It got a little confusing at times.
The staff at Mayo are so incredibly kind! That being said, once your surgeon decides to perform the surgery (🙏 yes!!) it’s OK to be insistent as you talk to your doctor’s assistant to get surgery scheduled. Based on what I’ve seen, I think you already have that part down.😊
Then the next step, which comes a little later, will be to work with them to get your blood test testing and EKG as close to surgery as possible since you are flying in. They have people fly in from all over the world so they are used to that.
Best!! Sherry
