@ccben70
I am on my 3rd ICD/Pacemaker and have had one since 2006.
When you had your procedure where you under anesthesia? If so going to take some time for it to completely clear your body. Are you on any new medications? Any of them can cause your symptoms.
You mentioned subpectoral sugery. Is that below your chest muscle? That is where mine was implanted. If so that is surgery that involves your chest muscle versu just under skin. It is going to take longer to heal, have more discomfort, and probably on some type of pain medication.
Have you talked to your EP or cardiologist surgeon about your symptoms. None of us on MCC have your medical history, medications, etc. thus your doctors would be best to give your symptoms too.
I can pass on my experience with this as have had 3 surgeries. My first was the worse and took a long time to heal. I had a lot of discomfort for awhile on first one. It also took some time for anesthesia and medication to wear off.
In my case in a couple of weeks it did. Follow your surgeons guidance on using your left arm (or side you had device put in) as you don't want to irritate surgery site, or irritation to wires. But you also don't want your shoulder to freeze up either so their advice is really important.
Thanks for your response. Is very helpful. Will follow up on some suggestions.
