I was on 3 times a day at .5 mg and have been tapering since December 1st 2024 and will finish tapering in mid-November. I weigh tablets and reduce by 5 to 10% every 2 weeks. Every .5 mg tablet weighs .060 grams and it takes time, a lot patience and I felt like your wife exhausted when taking thr Lorazepam medication that I would need to take naps and felt exhausted. The best way to taper is to get a jewelers .001 gram scale. Weigh the tablets and then shave off 5 to 10% every 2 to 3 weeks. It is not easy but it is worth it the end to get all your energy and strength and endurance back.

It’s an insidious drug. I also slowly tapered for six months to get off of .5 mg per day. Congrats on your perseverance!

I did that many years and it worked great. Unfortunately i went back on and am doing it again

I’d just like to point out that lorazepam comes in liquid form. You can get this at any pharmacy, it’s inexpensive and you can pull up the tiniest amounts with the dropper. Much easier and less daunting than weighing pieces of pills.
