Can't help with post-surgery stuff because I didn't have surgery, but I did have a catheter during a renal episode. Removal day was a big nothing. It took the nurse longer to put gloves on than to pull the catheter. You guys will be fine. My son sent me a couple pair of my grandson's superman pull ups "just in case"
