Forgive me, I don't mean to scare you with this comment, but what you're describing sounds a lot like what happened to my father...Is there any chance your husband can have his WBC count checked right away? As well as CRP and procalcitonin? Don't wait for fever to spike again, you could be too late if it's an infection. Yesterday was circled red in my father's calendar, it was the day of his 6th and final round of docitaxel, but he died from sepsis 10 days after his 2nd round. He didn't have fever (he had mild fever for one day after his 1st cycle. and the doctor said-well, if it comes back then will do smth), his WBC count was normal, only CRP and procalcitonin were extremly high. Please, have them checked. You want to be safe, not sorry (like me).

And I also meant to say sorry for your loss!
I lost my mom two weeks after my husband's diagnosis in February and my in-laws passed away last fall. It's been rough.
