Reclast infusion side effects?

I want to relate my positive experience with Reclast as most of the posts would scare many away from it. I am 75 and just had my 5th Reclast infusion. I followed the suggestion of tylenol and staying hydrated before and after the infusion. I felt great afterwards, going to the gym, swimming. Then about 36 hours after the infusion, right before I went to bed I got flu like symptoms, chills and maybe a low fever, and just slept it off until noon the following day. Then I felt fine and resumed my daily activities! My bone scan prior to this showed some improvement (I have osteopenia) and no reduction in bone density. This could also be to my strength training with weights and my Vitamin D levels being back to normal. I've fallen several times over the past 5 years (skiing, slipping on ice, tripping over my dog!) but no fractures. In the 4 years before I started Reclast I had 3 fractures from very minor falls. I wanted to post my positive experience with Reclast and won't know until I meet with my endocrinologist later this year what other treatments might be recommended. In the meantime, I'll keep taking the Vitamin D and Calcium, and doing my weight strength training. I feel blessed to have had no other side effects. I don't believe there are many drugs that have no side effects, and remember that everyone's body is unique and will respond differently. Good luck to everyone on their journey to get stronger bones.

Thanks Maggie! I appreciate taking time to let all of us know the great response to Reclast you had. Glad you are doing great. Your reply helps to encourage me to take the step to get Reclast without worrying about the side effects.
