Abdominal pain with severe constipation and weight loss

Posted by sousou @sousou, Jan 1, 2018

I started to have pain on July 2017, since I have had colonoscopy, celiac test, abdominal ultra sound , endoscopy, food allergy test, two Scans and recently a RMI . All these tests were négatives. The first doctor i have seen told me that I have so much stool in my colon, that's why he asked me to take Miralax. I start loosing weight , Miralax didn't help me. I don't know what to do, I am suffering of daily pain wich radiating in my back.

@sousou: I hope you found answers and some relief - I have a very similar experience and have given up on the medical "professionals".

When I was born I nearly died from a milk allergy and constipation and it has plagued me all my life. Several years ago I discovered miralax and for the first time in my life I have regular BM’a. Please give Miralax another chance even now occasionally it will take a couple of days to get a BM going when I have eaten something that cloggs me up. Just take a cap full in the am or pm. See if that works for you. Give it a week of doing that. I take two in 10 ounces of water. My friend takes 3 ounces. It will work please be diligent and just give it a chance. Before Miralax I had no life.

If you haven’t already had it, you should have a four hour stomach emptying test to see if you have gastroparesis.

I totally get what you have. I either had major diarrhea or constipation. I take Miralax and colace every a.m. Dr. told me to take Miralax at night also. I hope it works! Will report back!! Good luck!!

If you are taking any of the GLP-1 medications (Ozempic, Mounjoro, etc.) this could delay the stomach emptying. Please check this out with a Barium Swallow test - which can show changes in your GI tract. Either way, this test should help you try to figure things out. It could be IBS with constipation. Some people have IBS with diarrhea. Please increase your water intake, as that will also help in keeping things moving. Good luck.

I wonder if it’s your gallbladder…

Sounds like you may have abdominal adhesions like me. It never shows up in any scans.
