I have had the Nissen... it broke down within two years. Then I had the Toupet Fundoplication 4 years ago. Have been just as miserable. Didnt fix anything! Cant eat normally. Have positional pains in the abdominal area, and just found out I have an incisional hernia and need more mesh implanted. I have so many issues... but my advise is... REALLY research every option before choosing the Nissen. Dont let a general surgeon do it... make sure it is a gastric specialist. I regret my decision.

Thank You

A failed or failing "Nissen" is a all consuming life changing event... I regret my decision to have it done.. I just wanted to get rid of the GERD... I did not investigate and get a second opinion... Mayo MN gave me a way to cope...
