I am undergoing treatment fir MAC abscessus now after almost 10 years of being dormant...no symptoms. I had been caring for my husband with Alzheimer's for 15 years and the last couple of years just did me in and I got very run down and my Mac activated.
So I had to be treated.
I wanted to mention that I lost weight during all that and had been having trouble putting it back on. But then I started eating roasted peanuts in the shell, a couple of cups a day, and it has really helped me put wait back on. I seemed to be steadily gaining each week. They are very high-calorie, but they're also healthy!

Interesting about the shelled peanuts. Are you having symptoms besides the weight loss and what antibiotics are you on if any and how are you tolerating them? Also what is your age? Is anyone using a compression vest in this conversation? If so is it helping?
