I had an Aquablation in Feb 2024. Hat to wear a catheter for 7 days, lots of blood. Got it out and still had blood for about 7 more days, but got clearer each day. Bleed a lot more that was told. All was fine until Sept 2024 and the urine flow went back like prior to surgery and I restarted Flowmax. Still on Flowmax.
Finely yesterday went back to surgeon and he did a scope, said there was narrowing in prostate. I ask it that something that grew back after the surgery. His answer was no, Aquablation just doesn't remove as much tissue. I ask why they didn't remove more tissue and didn't really get an answer, well he did say they could do another surgery. I just couldn't get a clear answer why just all of a sudden after 7 months, things went down hill or why if that wasn't new growth and it was narrow- why wasn't it removed initially. I have asked again via MyChart and not getting an answer. This is a training hospital and there was a resident there that I seem to think did some or part of the surgery, I really just don't know?? I do know they woke me up during the surgery and had me sign something ( I was so out of it not sure what it was I signed) and looked down and it wasn't my surgeon, I ask you ever done this before and got a reply of yes 30 times and then I was knocked back out.
Would not get another Aquablation, if I ever get another procedure believe it would be HoLep? Really disappointed in this response yesterday. This is a major school in Kansas and has a good reputation. Our family had great experience in past, but first time in this department. Feel at a lost what to do, but the Flomax does get me by for now.

Good lord. They had you sign something mid-surgery? That’s a giant red flag. You need to find out what you signed and perhaps share that document and your experience with an attorney.
