I had two knee surgeries on left knee. Surgeon placed nickel that I was allergic to and my implant size is wrong. My experience is once they do surgery they do not even recognize you or your problem. I am suffering for three and half year I am much worse and more pain than before surgery. Good luck and prayers for you.

I think you’re right. How did you discover that the implant was the wrong size?
My knee is very swollen after 10 months. I’m trying shockwave therapy for the arthrofibrosis.
Hope things get better for you.

After my TKR I saw my surgeon at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months out! My next visit, unless a problem arises, is at the 5-year mark. I certainly don't feel abandoned. I had to message his office once or twice when my dentist or other doctor had a question about prophylactic medication, and I received a prompt response. We need to check reviews and get some background information before choosing doctors. As for the implant size -- I recently read that it has now been determined that SHOE size is a better determination of implant size needed than height. The only thing I remember about my surgeon seeing me in recovery when I was groggy, is that he said, "You have a big knee." LOL. I do have big feet for my height! I've read that they bring a variety of implants into surgery so that when they open the knee they can choose appropriately. This might not always happen! I noticed that the orthopedic questionnaire now asks for shoe size.
