Update - I am not one bit regretting my ‘exhautive research’ and do not confuse my research with a medical degree, but I do have advanced training and an inquisitive mind by nature. Yes, now I have reduced the time researching because what I have learned to date helps me be more specific with my queries now. A little defensive? Probably.

We just finished 6 rounds of double chemo on the premise of a variant yet to be confirmed - all testing has shown typical acinar adenocarcinoma of prostate origin, but the lung biopsy sample were insufficient X2 for further testing. The 3 tumors were about 1 cm, which the urologist called big and the GU Oncologist called tiny - ha. Therapy began late April with Firmagon, then double chemo for 3 cycles. Nubeqa was added late just before the 4th round and 6 th round completed this week. PET scan coming in one moth, PSA dropped to < 0.1 within first 2 weeks and has remained there, although it was only 0.37 at the start of therapy. We also have a consult for SBRT to any residual lung nodules. I am grateful for a 4 week break from labs, appts, I infusions, shots etc every week and you can bet he is even moreso.

Hey, you cannot possibly research enough when your life or that of a loved one is on the line, OK? Cramming all this into your head at a fever pitch is exhausting!! But today more than ever you have to be if not one step ahead of your doctor, at least be at his/her heels…they have to know what you know in order to keep them on their toes. Sorry for all the podiatric references!😆. Squeaky wheel and all that…Best
