Hello @xavierf, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! I love hearing you are advocating so well for you daughter. She continues to go through a lot and your support has to mean the world to her.

I am not a medically trained person and am not familiar with digestive surgeries. While we wait for others to comment I have one thought from my own experience. I had a central line put in my chest and I developed a rash/blisters. It got flushed every week and each time we changed one thing to rule out what was wrong. Turned out I reacted to the chlorohexidine used to clean my skin prior to the original procedure. This was a new reaction for me, so I guess my suggestion is to take a methodical approach and don’t write anything off as the possible culprit.

How is your daughter doing? How is Mom doing?
I am guessing the rash is very obviously contact related. If you are comfortable sharing, what were her surgeries and what type of things have changed with her, possibly medications or something to clean her skin?

Thank you for your response. We doing ok , apparently she having some type of dermatitis related to the type of bags for the ostoma. Last night at ER they prescribed her an ointment (Kenalog) 0.1% and it’s helping a little of course we need to wait couple days more to see final results . Adding to that The ostoma nurse started trying to do different bags brands to see if maybe it’s that the problem , she said maybe my daughter is allergic to some brands that they have using . My daughter had diagnosed with Crohn’s disease about a year or so but doctors think she started with The Crohn’s like 4 years prior . First they removed the gallbladder and after that she continued with the bowel’s movement and they found that was Crohn’s syndrome instead. After a year or so of treatment they found out she have bad part in her intestines so they decided to remove part of it so they did did and after surgery she started leaking inside they put a drainage and went home . At hime she’s started bleeding and she had infection too . She went back to the hospital they fix inside the drainage and put it more big inside . Went home and the next day again to the hospital and they decided to do the ileostomy and went home and now she having the rash problem . I’m very concerned about her . She’s depressed she just cry and cry . She’s not getting weight she’s loosing weight. I’m doing everything to help her . I know it’s a long journey, but it’s very sad for me seen her like that . We got in contact with a psychologist to see if she can get some therapy . It’s not easy but we doing everything we can to support her everyday . But let’s see how it goes now with the skin protection. In 2 months she’s going back to surgery the reverse . Hopefully she get it done and get better . Thank you for your support.
