How long did you wait before the AUS? I am in my 8th month of dealing with incontinence and pads. I think I was up to 4or 5 pads a day but now down to 1 or 2, depending on my activity. I’ve done pelvic muscle therapy for 3 months and continue to do exercises at home. I don’t know how much time I should give to the recovery process before doing something else. I am on medication but don’t know if it helps or not. Thanks!

The standard time is 12 months post-prostatectomy, to give it time to resolve on it's own - with or without pelvic floor exercises.
I had my AUS done after 9 months.

2 surgeries to the same region of the body within 9 months is pretty tough on a guy, but worth it.
I was sent to a physio about 3 months before my first surgery, in the hope of teaching me Kegels.
6 months of one-on-one training - with biofeedback & ultrasound... I just didn't get it.
By that stage, I was going through about 7 pads a day.
It was tough.

I kept a spreadsheet of pad weights dry & wet, how long since I last changed a pad & how much urine was lost each time through uncontrollable incontinence.
My surgeon was horrified.
So I was put on 3 separate waiting lists, to rush me through.
Totally worth it.

So don't hold back on telling your urologist how miserable this is every day.
A spreadsheet is good to print out, too. They love numbers & it backs you up on how bad this is.
