After one injection my side effects have been horrible. It has been 3.5 weeks since the injection and I am still feeling the side effects. The worst two are the occasional chest pains and the daily lightheadedness. The fatigue is finally slowing itself down and the muscle cramping is not as bad as it was. The flu like symptoms are subsiding as well. It has also affected my A1c in the wrong direction. I refused to take another dose. I have been told that it can take up to 3-4 months for the effects to go away. I am not enjoying this at all.

My husband had very bad side effects to the point that I had to get him to the Emergency Room. He was having shortness of breath, chest pain, his blood sugar skyrocketed (he is not diabetic), and dizziness with weakness. He felt awful. He is no longer taking any meds for the lipids. He has been following strictly the Mediterranean diet, walking, no sodas nor sweets. No red meat ( only if we go to a restaurant and that is once a month because in restaurants the salt content in food is very high. He doesn’t drink or smoke. His lipids are great and his blood sugar returned to normal. Every patient is different and responses to medications differently. Before you decide to stop it consult your physician. Get informed about this injection and search for its studies. I did and my husband decided to stop it after talking to his cardiologist. Stay well.
