I’ve had my 1st flare of diverticulosis in May, still dealing with bouts of diarrhea. Tried the liquid diet & low fiber. I have constant left lower abdominal pain which is stressing me out! My stool sample just came back negative & scheduled for a colonoscopy end of August. Does the abdominal pain ever go away?

I was first diagnosed with acute diverticulitis in April of 2024. I wasnt told I had the pockets or pouches until Dec 2024 when they looked at my CT Scan. I even had a colonoscopy in June of 2024 and the Dr said I had no pouches at all. So then I got them sometime after that? This disease is so hard to find answers about. I had to take antibiotics for my infections and I followed a bland diet after my dr said I could eat certain foods. The first case I had I was told to do a liquid diet for a couple days and that was AFTER I had eaten solids. I didnt even know because the ER dr neglected to tell me. :/ The abdominal pain does go away yes, it did for me after taking a course of antibiotics after each diagnosis & CT confirmed I had an infection of my colon. I sometimes get random sharp pains and Ill use a heating pad and just monitor my symptoms and my food for a few hours to see if it goes away. Best of luck to you @corday7587.
