One of the videos I watched was a young woman discussing her ostomy practices. She said that eating a couple of marshmallow a couple of hours before changing her pouch kept it from "doing its business" during the change. I tried, but only gave it an hour. There was a little "activity" but not much. Will try it again.

Also, I discovered a Box of Rags by Scott Tissue in the garage. I confiscated them and ordered another from Amazon. They are larger and much softer that paper towels, not very expensive, given the number in the box, and work beautifully for cleaning during my changing process. I honestly don't feel that it is sanitary using a wash cloth if it is going into the laundry with other items, and this solves the problem.

I bought twelve white cotton wash cloths for the bag changing. No problem in the wash as I always rinse the cloths before the go into the washer. And I always use peroxide instead of bleach. Nothing to throw away and no extra cost.
