I will be in a brace set at various degrees for at least 8 more weeks. It is very hard to sleep in it and put a soft blanket between my knees. I still sleep with my leg slightly elevated.
I am used the crutches but could see a benefit to a walker. The knee scooter is going back to the loan closet on Monday. The back of my brace hits the back of my leg.
This is a horrible injury and long recovery.
Stay safe and hopefully you will get out of the house soon.
Keep us posted aa how your pre op appointment went.

The bad part about this brace it is so heavy. know about sleeping and laying with the brace. When sleeping on my back prop it and then while propped up take the shin straps off for a bit. I also sleep with rolled up small blanket between my legs while laying on my side. I just try different positions to keep the nerve pain to a minimum. if you need the walker they have them at the mayo store. your insurance should cover it, if you have an order from your doctor I put a cotton sock piece underneath the back of my knee for that pain. it helps. This is the worse injury I have ever had too.
I wish you best. just know I am here to share our recoveries together. I hurt myself june16 and had surgery july15. so now my summer is over pretty much.

is that standard 8 more weeks?
I sleep with a pillow also between my knees and one to elevate my leg. r u having any nerve pain at all.
ill went out today for a bit. exiting and entering is so scary for me as the door stoop is wide. maybe you could get a walker but you sound like you are doing an excellent job with the crutches. where do you live? r u close to Rochester?
