Hi I have heard of a procedure I believe is sonic waves angiogram where they soften the calcium, balloon the arteries to the heart and put in stents to increase blood flow to the heart. Is this a safe procedure and is available to a 90 year old in good shape other than 70% blockage to 2 main arteries to the heart. My condition makes me limit walking any distance before getting angina. I also sleep a lot and tire easy.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ….Fos

Hi @foss, I am not familiar with sonic wave but am thinking it is also called intravascular lithotripsy.

I search from the Home Screen and found:
- intravascular lithotripsy discussion: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/intravascular-lithotripsy/
- comments in other discussions that reference IL:

Is this a procedure routinely done by your provider? What do you expect as recovery?
