I am an Esophageal cancer survivor. Diagnosed in 2019. Went thru all the treatments etc, with no side effects to speak of except a bad burn on skin from radiation.
Mayo hospital / Rochester, MN for esophageal removal in April 2020. I was their guest there for 10 days. NPO (nothing per oral), feeding tube for a few months (hell of a diet plan). I really, honestly can't think back and complain about a thing. Passed the 5 year survivor marker!!!!!
Complications? Yes, ofcourse. It was major surgery. One of the surgical sites (right rib cage) still gets plenty sore from time to time, had to have diaphramic hernia repaired (Mayo again) as when they did the removal and stretched the stomach they needed to do a gastric pull thru. No big deal in the realm of it all.
Good luck, as with everything.......... think positive!!!!!
