I'm a veteran from the Cold War era. God only knows what vaccines I received back then. We just formed a line and walked between people with air guns who shot compressed air containing vaccines into both arms. You could tell who flinched because there would be a bloody line instead of a single drop of blood. There were also a few casualties when some people fainted. The vaccines were for "future deployments" anywhere on earth. We weren't asked if we wanted the vaccines.
I can't say those vaccines did any harm to me other than psychological trauma. Whenever I get a vaccine now ... my memory recalls that time long ago. I'm not fearful of vaccines. I just let my doctor know when I'm "mentally ready" for some vaccines.
I do have an inordinate number of autoimmune problems but I don't know if there is any connection to any vaccine. I occasionally flare after a vaccine but not always. My rheumatologist doesn't dispute that "flares can happen after vaccines."
My autoimmune problems started after an enteric infection when I was in Romania. I wasn't active duty at the time. It was more of a humanitarian mission after the Cold War. Whatever infection I got ... all those vaccines didn't prevent it. I was also genetically predisposed because of being HLA-B27 positive.
