Prostate Biopsy Complication
Diagnosed in October 2023 with low volume Gleason 3+4, decipher 0.22. Post biopsy PSA’s have average 6.2, compared to 7.8 prebiopsy.
My 12 month mpMRI indicated only the largest of the original three (PIRADS 3, 4 & 5) lesions was visible and it had reduced T2 and DWI/ADC signaling so everything is looking good regarding the MRI and reduced PSA.
It took me more than 2 months to recover from my 1st biopsy (21 cores) and I’m not looking forward to getting another.
Actually, even after 15 months, I still experience a low level groin soreness where tissue scar may have formed, near a nerve, after the biopsy procedure. Nothing major, more of an annoyance and a minor aggravation.
I found out this is a recognized complication of prostate biopsies; especially for those having large numbers of cores taken.
Has anyone experienced this biopsy complication?
If so, how long did it last and did you find anything to alleviate it…or did it eventually just go away?

Thank you, Robert…I think??
Unfortunately when I hear the word ‘influencer’ all I can think about is some useless fool with a phone, advising their ‘followers’ (sheep?) how to keep their butt cracks clean and sweet smelling - without a shower!
The fact that they make millions of $$ is not lost on me either; the Kardashians of this world are influencing our younger, malleable generations to be just like them: non-productive media personalities with no real skills, talent or thirst for real knowledge.
So thank you for appreciating my honesty; but influencer? Please NOOOO!!

I noticed heavyphil's excellent command of English. I think he posted he was a writer in his career
I’m happy, exhilarated and surprised that I am not the Lone Ranger here. It is my dubious pleasure to make your acquaintance. My name is Robert and you may call me that or Bob- whichever you prefer if in fact you even wish to continue to collaborate with me. It would be my pleasure; Sincerely, stages 4 in both lung and prostate cancer and working on (don’t know what stage of neck cancer), but have wrangled an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic. My insurance does not operate in or at any of their 3 locations where Mayo Clinic operates. Best wishes with whatever cancer issues you are presently dealing with. You could share that with me if you’re so inclined?
JC, I think you have me confused with Hans Casteels - he writes as a hobby- and beautifully I might add.
My best work is usually inscribed on a mensroom wall with language and rhyme scheme too ‘colorful’ to display on the forum!🫣
Chebo, did I read that incorrectly or do you currently have THREE different kinds of cancer??
Phil
That is correct, please call me Bob or Henry; Chebo is a personal & endearing term. It is a combination of my wife’s first name which is Cheryl and Bob of course by the name I most often went by thus Chebo! Yes, I have been operated on twice for bladder cancer 2014& 2018, treated 1st with “big” chemo guns for lung cancer and it blew a hole in back of my right lung and I was then told I had 2 weeks to live… well I believe that tells you- “(drs ain’t always right)” Was then put on an immunotherapy, IV called Optivo. In 2018 I was declared cancer free- yea right? Course the bastard just shows up somewhere else. Enter stage 4 prostate cancer, presently treated orally by a regimen of 4 Zytiga 250mg tablets + 1 5mg tablet of prednisone. Hard to believe myself!!
Wow, you really got it in spades, brother…Your struggles with these serious illnesses - and the strength to fight on - is really admirable. You are an extraordinary man, Bob. Keep hangin’ in there!!
Phil
@heavyphil
So you are the one writing all those messages on bathroom walls. You must travel a lot as I see them on highway restrooms all the time.
But heavyphil you do write very well and easy to understand. I enjoy your post as well as you wisdom and experience with this subject
Phil, you crack my ass up. I can’t wait for any posts from heavy Phil. I mean wow cause you’re kind, thoughtful, understanding and with a sense of humor to boot!! And from what I got around to reading I don’t recall you ever mentioning what form/forms of cancer you are battling? If I missed it would you mind running it by me? Pretty Please! Bob
Thanks JC ….and let’s not forget:
