@jessicamc follow-up one year later. My Dexa showed improvement, very happy with the scores. I will be 80 yrs Nov 2026! I had a consultation with a Mayo endocrinologist who cares for osteoporosis & osteopenia patients. She gave me 45 minutes of her precious time explaining options for treatment. I left feeling like Prolia for me at my age would be about as good as any. She said there are always new studies, new medicines coming available so keep abreast of new research. I expressed my concern about dental health and she said if a dentist won’t treat me, find a new dentist. There are new techniques, procedures for dental care being taught at good dental colleges. Fortunately, the endodontist that did a root canal last year is in that category.
One last note, I joined the local Y and am doing strength exercises. Working to prevent a fall and to hope I can keep bone density stable.

Don’t switch to Reclast, same dental issues.
I’m having trouble deciding what to do right now.
You take one medication thinking it will help, but you find out you have more problems that need to be addressed
Good luck!
