I agree with everyone who said we aren't told how slow recovery will be! When they told us we'd be walking the day of surgery they made it sound so simple! In reality, it takes 6 - 12 months to feel normal again. I also felt I'd made a mistake by getting the knee replacement. It took a couple of months to recognize that I was going to feel stronger eventually. I recently read that a TKR is actually one of the toughest surgeries out there! I'm just over a year out now and I no longer regret doing it.

Thanks so much for your comments. I realized that this is a marathan than a sprint. It is going to take time. I am scheduled for manipulation next Tuesday. I am realizing now that I have to stay on top of everything. I have faith I will be back to normal. I am taking it one day at a time. I wish doctor's office was more transparent. They told me I would be up and walking the same day. I would be driving my car to the follow up appointment in 3 weeks. This is so unrealistic.
