An ortho I was sent to wanted to do this on my hip. I ran away from this provider....finally found an outstanding surgeon for torn gluetus medius. My thought was it would be harder for a good surgeon to repair after this salvage procedure. Just my opinion. More reasons not to do in my case but in general, I would not consider.

He is also my elbow surgeon, and assures me this would not make it harder to repair. I am trying to avoid the down time of yet another surgery as I am just finishing rehab on that shoulder for rotator cuff repair. This seems to offer me the best chance of relief - we also discussed PRP, but it would take longer to get results and there are some meds I would need to stop before plasma extraction.
I have a track record of success with this team of docs, so I trust his advice and have decided to try it.
