"Once is enough the way things have become on this planet."

The world was much worse in my grandparents' time (two world wars and hundreds of millions of deaths), and in my parents' (imminent threat of nuclear annihilation, which was avoided by a hair's breadth several times). Even when I was born in the mid-1960s Canada, it was still legal to ban people from golf courses, housing developments, concerts, etc because of their race; two men could go to jail for having consensual sex but a husband couldn't be jailed for sexually assaulting his spouse; our government was still abducting Indigenous children and abusing and torturing them in residential schools; and on and on.

So while I'm not thrilled with the turn some recent political events have taken, I'm still grateful to be alive and smile at the world every morning when I wake up.

Your not old enough yet to be fed up. You missed the Cuban crisis in 1962, you missed going to Vietnam and catching agent Orange like I did. Consider yourself lucky you missed out on wars that serve no purpose. Your right. Enjoy each day. My friends call it SSDD. Of course their my age arena. 70s.
