I have had three shots and have some pain in my hips, legs, and arms which is exacerbated by immobility. It’s worse at night and I am stiff in the morning. This gradually goes away during the day. I have started taking Tylenol before bedtime which helps a bit.

I also strive to be active during the day with exercise, walking, and stretching and to stay well hydrated.

I think that because Evenity and other anabolic medications are acting on our bone metabolism and promoting bone growth over a short period, they can cause some discomfort in some of us.

Many have no side effects at all and others have terrible issues which cause them to stop the medication. For me, the side effects of Evenity, though uncomfortable, are tolerable at the moment to prevent another fracture. I hope that continues.

I'm 66 and lead a very active lifestyle...kayaking, yoga, walking and weight training. Can I expect to slow down as the joint pain progresses?

I have had severe pain starting on 12th shot in February. It has only gotten worse and have been off it since February , 5 months. Have continue exercises that help but pain returns within an hr. My OA has also increased in hands shoulders and neck. My left femur xray showed an increase calification with possible femur injury on upper outer femur. No fx but weakness and possible injury. I have had no falls etc so my ortho Dr thinks it from Evenity. Anyway it is a waiting game to see if pain resolves but it has not. I am using a cane but may have to go to a walker as I am unsteady. Prayers we get better. I can not do any gardening, grocery shopping causes pain and I am in bed for the next day or 2. Before tx I was active doing gardening unpacking decorating walking etc. My life is destroyed. Prayers for all of us.
