Yes, I believe the issue is solved. I saw the urologist a week after the procedure (still peeing blood at that time), and again 6 weeks later when I voided to only 4ml retained- which for me was unheard of.
I have a 6 month follow-up in late September, so looking forward to finding out if I’m still good then for voiding.

The biggest change since that last urology appointment is that I am no longer having any major issues with urinary incontinence (still a little damp over night, but was getting quite wet when I walked, when I last saw my urologist). I’m hoping that the recovery from incontinence isn’t at the expense of retention!
