I had a stage 1 nodule removed from left lobe now have a new 7mm in lower lobe 3 months after surgery and they said it could be scar tissue or other things related to surgery and not necessarily another lung NET had that happen?

Hi @hollyann72 and welcome to Mayo Connect. Is there any follow up testing being done? If so, what tests? What are the next steps?

I am going back in two months to get another CT of my lungs as well as my liver just as a precaution as well as a MRI of my brain. I was doctoring with a lung oncologist which was close to wear I live ( an hour) but have since went to the James in Columbus and gotten a 2nd opinion where they wanted to do a bit more testing. We had been monitoring the lung nodule they removed aboyt five years. It was found on a heart smart CT Scan. It took five years to double in size and was still only the size of a pea when they removed my left upper lobe.

I see a nets oncologist now. I did have the dotate pet scan and it came back clear except for the lung . I have other lung nodules as well but they have not grown in the past five years. One of those lung nodules was even bigger than the one they removed but do not have concern because it had not grown.

Unfortunately, it can be an excruciating process. There seems to be a plan to keep things monitored. Though difficult, try to find some solace in that.
