For what it is worth, I found this information with AI. Pari is of course the best source for information about the Compressor life span.
Medicare MIGHT if Pari says it lasts at least five years. Always worth a try with a doctors prescription for the system????
The PARI eRapid Nebulizer System, specifically the handset, is recommended to be replaced every 6 months. However, some users report using it longer than that. The nebulizer compressor itself is recommended to last 3-5 years.
Here's a breakdown of the replacement schedule:
Handset (eFlow Technology): Every 6 months, or when nebulization time more than doubles after cleaning.
Nebulizer Compressor: 3-5 years.
Disposable nebulizer sets: 10-15 treatments or a couple of weeks.
Reusable nebulizers: Twice a year.
Corrugated Tubing (for non-disposable sets): Once a year.
Mouthpiece & Dome (for ultrasonic nebulizers): Once a year

Cost of ownership is a useful tool when evaluating a purchase. The variable of time, difficult to measure, but we all know with each tic tock of the clock we have less of it left. Perhaps the passage of time increases the current value of time?

So far, there is not a perfect compressor/nebulizer setup. We work with what we have. There's no right or wrong. Each has advantages and disadvantages.

BTW, there is no tubing with the portable eflow. Often, AI does not get it right. Information showing ranges of time and money might be most useful.

It doesn't have to last 5 years to be covered, it just has to last more than one year. BUT, Medicare will only cover one machine each 5 years, and under my plan it is only a Pari Vios (the one I call the "Big Green Machine").
