Has anyone ever shrunk an Aneurysm?

Yes there are stents for both ascending and descending aortic aneurysms. Endovascular stents are available for descending aortic aneurysms.
Recently (last few years), clinical trials began for ascending aortic aneurysms. Many, if not most, high volume academic centers are participating.
As with any clinical trial, requirements for patients to receive one are well delineated.
My husband and I were very enthused but then learned he didn’t qualify. Why? First of all, his aneurysm is 4.9 cm - I think it has to be 5.0 cm. The second reason was that there needs to be sufficient “landing areas” on each end (North &South) of the aneurysm for the surgeon to be able to attach the graft!
So it will be awhile. My husband’s aneurysm has been stable for years and so we are hoping to avoid surgery. Who knows! One can only hope!

Thanks for the intel. Im scared becsuse my RN aunt says i need surgery ASAP but like you its got to be 5.0
I hope i can get a stent too but for right now i need to lower bp
What meds work for you.
