After an RP and Salvage Radiation left me with an overactive bladder (urgency, awake 4 x a night to void), I tried to do as much as I could to return to normal: physical therapy, bladder training, avoiding certain food/drink, etc.
After a couple of years of marginal success with these first-level treatments, I started on Mybetriq (25 mg) for a month or two with no side effects and now take Myrbetriq (50 mg) daily, in the late evening. I'm not sure why I chose the late evening - perhaps because my main purpose was to reduce my nighttime awake times (assuming that it has its greatest effectiveness shortly after it was taken). It helped reduce my voiding to 2x a night, although I have found little difference in urgency and frequency during the day. I've been on it for 9 months or so (it takes a few months to fully kick in), and plan to wean myself off of it to see what happens.
My family doctor checks my BP every few months at the renewal of my prescription. Before using Mybetriq my BP was marginally elevated, after using it, it did not change. I have no other side effects. As an aside, I have sleep apnea so I started using a CPAP machine - this reduced my nighttime voiding to 1x most nights, and my BP is now normal.
