If your Dr prescribes it you get it from a pharmacy. What do you mean when you say you could not get it locally? It is covered by Part B Medicare if you are on medicare. But some people cannot tolerate it while others seem to.

Publix and Walgreens made me wait and could not tell me when the would get it. Being brand new to this disease I had no idea, maybe it was a hard to get drug. However, I ended all that checking with Amazon Pharmacy and they had it and still do without any issues.
