Now that’s a good one. I’ve seen previous attempts at combining PARP, but it didn’t help at all.
This study really seems to show there is a benefit in PFS (progression free survival). He does have BRCA So it is quite appropriate either way.
It’s interesting that Jansen would make Akeega PARP+abbie in a single pill about the same time as the study results. I was actually paid to review the early Akeega Documentation. There were a lot of errors and incomprehensible stuff, But one thing it made clear, There were some major side effects. My oncologist had warned me that the side effects were too much, but this documentation went into detail about the major ones and what to do when they occurred.
That study was done in 2022. We definitely have not seen a rush of doctors to treat with Abbie plus a PARP. Why has this study not been followed up by More acceptance of PARP. Side effects?
And with one UCSF study this came up. PARP inhibitors can lead to a few serious side effects, explained Dr. Agarwal. These include a drop in blood cell counts, nausea and vomiting, and fatigue. Talazoparib, he noted, tends to cause substantial drops in red and white blood cell counts. To get around this, they reduced the dose in many cases.
Talazoparib PARP inhibitors works well with Enzalutamide says one Pfizer study. Which does seem to test a lutamide along with a PARP with is positive results?.
