Thanks Jeff I have talked about Gleason score since mine was done in 2017 and what I recall was 2 numbers and was told if the users wee reversed it would suggest no cancer
Stages have never been mentioned. All digtal exames seemed it indicate “ GOOD “ but what did that mean? “ soft, not very large, a few “ nodules “ the digital made me wonder why all the concern. My biopsy in 2017 at UNC with a room full of students watching. The doc said you have been “ SO STILL “ we had to ask if you were still alive! ( laughter ) we would like to take a few more specimens since your so still and not complaining so I agreed. Instead of 12 specimens they took 18 out of a cancer that “ is the size of a dime “ It was an MRI GUIDED BIOPSY SO the saw exactly where the samples were coming from. I was disheartened when the Gleason score indicated cancer and as mentioned the numbers were like 4/3 but if it was 3/4 it would mean no cancer.
I was further disappointed when the doctor who was a leader in immunology told e that I’d only qualify for it after all else failed. So they suggested watching. My PSA was never more than 10 and was mostly around 5. In 2024 after a lot of sex they did a surprise test and my PSA was 40 or 50 I turned down what the docs suggested it keep creeping up as my sexual interaction were getting more frequent until t it 112 that when they did the Pet/Cat scan which showed it was in my seminal glands but nowhere else my digital exam was still good.

I’d like to get the pet scan image and post it here if I can mostly because the interpretation is radically different making me think two oncologist are looking at a different patients scan.
I hope that makes sense.
Thank as always!

Did they say it was in your seminal Vesicles? That would make it more aggressive.

Actually, the Gleason score that means no cancer is 3+3

3+4 is cancerous. The lowest level, grade group 2

4+3 is aggressive cancer grade group 3

I’m a little puzzled by your explanation of what’s going on.

If a biopsy shows, you have a Gleason 4+3 I can’t understand why they would put you on active surveillance (you say waiting). Aren’t they planning on doing something soon?

Have They found the cancer spread to the Seminal vesicles? You appear to be saying that. That makes the cancer more aggressive so you don’t want to wait around.

I don’t know if anybody here is capable of analyzing a PSMA Pet scan.

Have they talked to you about surgery versus radiation?
