Stem Cell Therapy for Arthritic Knees
I am a 77 year old woman with arthritic knees where it's difficult for me to walk and I'm trying to avoid knee replacement. I have done the Synvisc injections and physical therapy-- to no avail. Is there anyone here who has had stem cell therapy for arthritic knees and I would like to know your outcome. I know there are two, one where bone marrow is removed and the other where they take fat from the abdomen and regenerate and inject into the knees. I would like to know the cost and how long the procedure takes and any other information which would be helpful to me. I live in North Jersey and am currently looking for clinics in my area who perform this procedure. I appreciate your help.

I have had both the PRP injections and the new procedure MFAT. That is where they do the liposuction and then inject that into the knee. Some doctors used PRP with the fat and some don’t I like you I’m trying to avoid a knee replacement. This procedure was out-of-pocket it was $3500 for one knee I definitely think it helped But I remain proactive. I had this done two years ago and have continued to get the hyaluronic acid injections every six months mainly because Medicare pays for them and it certainly can’t hurt. I do exercise and play pickle ball as much as my knee will allow. I highly recommend Scott Hogan‘s book Built from Broken. It has helped me immensely.
How did you find out about the "Softwave Technoplogy" ?
Was it from an ortho doctor or a pain managements specialist doctor? Covered by insurance? If not, how much did it cost? Did they say how long the positive effect would last, assuming it was going to work? What was wrong with your knees? Meniscus operation beforehand, ligament inflammation, or??? Was the intention to regenerate meniscus and cartilage?
Thank you so much!
Hi, learned about Softwave from an email add. My right knee was replaced in 2011 because x rays showed bone on bone and I was in severe pain. Left knee has got steadily worse with arthritis and surgeon said some time ago that it needed replacing. It is not covered by insurance and they have not said how long a course of 10 treatments will last but the pain release has been instant. Cost is $2250.
