Hi, my operation was a fusion between my L3 and L4. As well as my L4 and L5. Both discs were ground down.
You can go to Youtube and search for TLIF which is the initials for the operation itself. It shows a full demonstration of exactly what goes on.

I am actually in the hospital as I compose this reply, my advice for foreign travel as I am finding out in reality is that you better speak the language because communication or lack of will make or break! You can be taken completely wrong and not even realize it.
However, my surgery was robotic, took five hours, I have 34 staples in nine separate small incisions. Recovery is not easy so expect some pain as well as
comfort.
It has been six days since surgery and doc says probably two more
